The second one can be add to the flour mixture directly, Which I like to use as it slightly speeds up rising time. But I always mix them in the water first with a little bit of sugar, so that I know they're "alive." I wouldn't recommend omitting the water because that is the binding agent. The butter is mostly for texture purposes. Hope this helps.Jennhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04378873886047213011noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5688748722813129585.post-46679084333760892752010-01-31T10:30:17.381-08:002010-01-31T10:30:17.381-08:00Hi Jenn, was looking for a simple pan de sal recip...Hi Jenn, was looking for a simple pan de sal recipe and thanks to you seem to have one that is relatively easy. do you mind advising what yeast you got. the yeast i got apparently does not require water as the sachet stated it can be added to the flour directly. followed the recipe but ended up with something gooey instead of a blob so we kept adding flour, hehehe. Can i just omit the water? thanks so much for sharing the recipe.Mewsingshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01182422753452314286noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5688748722813129585.post-86876020503780784072009-07-08T00:32:52.451-07:002009-07-08T00:32:52.451-07:00Midge: I'm sure a gluten-free and sugar-free r...Midge: I'm sure a gluten-free and sugar-free recipe would be fine. The butter is what makes the texture really what it is. Sure just adds the sweetness flavor, but can be omitted.Jennhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04378873886047213011noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5688748722813129585.post-54018984214449552432009-07-07T12:57:12.515-07:002009-07-07T12:57:12.515-07:00Hi, is it possible to create a gluten-free and ref...Hi, is it possible to create a gluten-free and refined sugar-free version of pan de sal without vastly altering its texture?Midgenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5688748722813129585.post-75551050555047076872009-06-07T20:11:30.995-07:002009-06-07T20:11:30.995-07:00The Food Addicts: Thanks. The Food Addicts: Thanks.Jennhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04378873886047213011noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5688748722813129585.post-54424683670435931222009-06-07T19:59:21.040-07:002009-06-07T19:59:21.040-07:00the bread looks so moist! i love making bread beca...the bread looks so moist! i love making bread because the entire house smells great. awesome recipe! The Food Addictshttp://www.thefoodaddicts.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5688748722813129585.post-171283002705611812009-06-03T12:51:55.027-07:002009-06-03T12:51:55.027-07:00Tangled Noodle: It's definitely work to take t...Tangled Noodle: It's definitely work to take the time to make it.Jennhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04378873886047213011noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5688748722813129585.post-39186767670016955262009-06-03T06:46:10.575-07:002009-06-03T06:46:10.575-07:00I'm sipping coffee right now and after reading...I'm sipping coffee right now and after reading this and looking at the photos of your perfect little pandesals, it just doesn't seem complete!
